Program Philosophy

To provide a safe and wholesome environment
in which youth may experience the fun of playing basketball and develop the
basic concepts of competition within the framework of good sportsmanship.

To teach basic fundamentals of the game of
basketball.

To teach (by word and example) to give one’s
best, regardless of one’s circumstances, always produces a winner.

To involve adults in
helping achieve the above purposes whether as coaches, advisors, officials,
fans, scorekeepers, timekeepers, etc...
The HOBL will
be separated into four boys and four girls divisions ranging from the ages of
6-14 years old.

Division Breakdown:
Freshmen
Division – Boys and Girls teams 6-8 years of age as of 12/1
For inexperienced players who need additional training on fundamentals and
For those experienced players who are prepared for a slightly more competitive atmosphere.
Sophomore
Division – Boys and Girls teams 9-10 years of age as of 12/1
For all experience levels. Rules are in place to keep teams evenly matched and game play competitive in a learning environment.
Junior
Division – Boys and Girls teams 11-12 years of age as of 12/1
For all experience levels. Game play is more competitive with rules in place for balanced competition.
Senior Division –
Boys and Girls teams 13-14 years of age as of 12/1
For all experience levels. Game play is equal to middle school playing rules for competitive competition.
- Registration is open until we reach capacity.
- Practices begin late November.
- Games begin on Saturday early December - HOBL Preview Games
- Tournament early March - HOBL Tournament for SO, JR, SR divisions
Practices and games are held at schools throughout the Hilliard City School District.
No refunds for any reason, unless we can not place your child on a team due to capacity.
